Our Story
about-thumb

YHH is a non-profit organization established in 2015 with the vision to employ differently-abled individuals, marginal groups, and single mothers to produce quality pashmina wears. We have been doing this for more then 8 years now during which we have trained countless individuals and equipped them with employable skills. Based in Pokhara, we provide a special place for those special people, all the while promoting Nepal made products and contributing to the economy of the country. At YHH, we believe in the potential of every individual, regardless of their abilities. Our mission is simple yet profound: Support, Train, Employ. We offer training and employment opportunities to differently-abled people, enabling them to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Our dedication to empowering individuals transcends barriers of ability, gender, and background.

Our Mission

Since we started this organization, we have been going after the same mission. As a pro women and pro differently-able organization, our mission is to maintain sustainable clothing production, ethical sourcing, fairtrade, and most of all providing the special members our community with a suitable working place where they feel content. In addition to all this, we have also made it our mission to support and fund the special ed schools. Moreover, we have been 100% carbon neutral since the very beginning of the organization. We do not indulge in any activity that would pollute the environment or produce carbon. We are proud of this and we will continue being carbon-free for the entirety of our existence. Each of our products is 100% natural as well. As for the bigger picture, we are here to uplift the living standards of these special individuals. We aim to create a world where the differently-abled are not differently treated, where they feel the same as others, and where they are approached with equal opportunity, respect, and love.

Artisan Empowerment

Artisans are not born, they are made. With that in mind, we have training programs which focuses on holistic approach to training. We teach our trainees with all the necessary info, skills, and more, making sure that they are not just machine operators but one who has some understanding of the machine they are working with. Our training programs are specifically designed for special needs people and it’s completely free paired with lunch allowance. After their training period is complete, they are welcome to work with us or go off to any other organization they want to. However, most trainees tend to work at YHH as we make them feel at ease, and at home.

Quality, Sustainibility & Eco-friendly

There is absolutely no need to worry about quality when it comes to our pashmina products. We promote and practice eco-friendly and sustainable measures to ensure that we remain carbon-neutral which we have been since the last 8 years. Our cashmere, sourced from the yaks of Upper Mustang, is renowned for its exceptional quality and unmatched softness. Each piece, whether it's a comfortable Pashmina shawl or a finely woven garment, reflects the dedication and skill of our remarkable artisans. Our collections of natural and classic cashmere products are crafted with care and skill by the specially-abled people of Nepal. In addition to our cashmere offerings, we also embrace sustainability through our eco-friendly hemp bags. Hemp is a versatile and sustainable material that we use to create a range of stylish and eco-conscious bags. Whether you're looking for a hemp backpack, a hemp tote bag, or a hemp messenger bag, our collection has something for everyone. These hemp bags not only make a fashion statement but also promote environmental responsibility.

Community Engagement

As mentioned earlier, we financially support special ed schools while also supporting the local differently-abled community. We engage with the whole community as we train and employ differently-abled adults while promoting differently-abled schools, promoting education to those special kids. YHH is also committed to promoting inclusivity and diversity. We provide employment opportunities to single women, individuals from the third-gender community, and those who are hard of hearing. By doing so, we aim to create a more inclusive and equitable society where everyone's skills and talents are valued.
